I’m the maker behind Rocking S Forge.

What started as an interest in blacksmithing grew into a genuine passion for taking a piece of steel and turning it into something useful, lasting, and worth keeping.

I work full-time outside of the forge, so Rocking S Forge has never been about mass production. Every piece is made in the limited time I have at the anvil, one at a time and by hand.

That’s important to me.

In a world where so much is made as quickly and cheaply as possible, I enjoy slowing things down. I like the sound of the hammer, the heat of the forge, and the process of watching a piece of raw steel become something completely different.

Where it all Started.

When I was five years old, I tagged along on a field trip with some of my older siblings. Growing up in southern South Carolina, we visited our fair share of plantations by proxy. The specific trip that has stuck with me all these years took us to Middleton Place Plantation.

At some point, I wandered into the blacksmith shop, and I was completely awestruck. I watched as hot steel was transformed into things that were both beautiful and useful.

I was already familiar with metal. I had grown up seeing acetylene torches and welders in use, but this was different. I didn’t have the words for it at five years old, and I certainly didn’t understand why it felt so different. They weren’t simply cutting steel or welding pieces together.

They were shaping it.

They were creating something.

It was art.

I've been chasing that feeling ever since.

The Way I Make Things

I don’t make hundreds of identical pieces.

I forge each piece individually, using traditional blacksmithing techniques and as little automation as practical. The hammer and file marks, small variations, and subtle differences are part of the process—not imperfections to be hidden.

Some of the steel I use has already had a life before it reaches my forge. Scrap, old steel, and pieces that might otherwise be thrown away can become something useful again.

That’s one of my favorite parts of blacksmithing: giving old steel a new purpose.

Whether it’s a grilling tool, a set of dice, or something completely custom, I want every piece to feel like it was made by a person—not a machine.

Why Rocking S Forge?

I started Rocking S Forge because I wanted to make things that were more than just objects.

I want the things I make to be used, handled, passed down, and eventually have a story of their own.

No two hand-forged pieces are exactly alike. Each one carries the evidence of how it was made—the hammer blows, the heat, the shaping, and the hands that put it together.

That’s what makes handmade worth having.

Made in Small Batches

Because everything is made by hand, I don’t keep an endless inventory of finished products.

Instead, I make small batches and release them through drops.

If you see something you like and it’s sold out, check back or follow along for the next release. I would rather make fewer pieces and make them well than sacrifice the process just to make more.
